k-Connectivity Analysis of One-Dimensional Linear VANETs

چکیده
In a 1-D linear vehicular ad hoc network (1-DL-VANET), some vehicles may leave the network (e.g., at highway exits), which may make the 1-DL-VANET disconnected. Thus, it is important to analyze the connectivity of the 1-DL-VANET. When removal of any (k− 1) arbitrary nodes from a network does not disconnect the network, the network is said to be k-connected. In this paper, we investigate the k-connectivity of the 1-DL-VANET. Sufficient and necessary conditions are derived for the 1-DL-VANET to be k-connected, and based on this, a method is provided, with the help of matrix decomposition, to obtain expression of the probability of the 1-DL-VANET being k-connected. The expectation of the maximum number of tolerable vehicle departures is also derived. Simulation results confirm the accuracy of our analysis and indicate that the expectation of the maximum number of tolerable vehicle departures almost linearly increases with the total number of vehicles.

Vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) is a type of promising application-oriented network deployed along a highway for safety and emergency information delivery, entertainment, data collection, and communication. In this paper, we present an analytical model to investigate the connectivity properties of one-dimensional VANETs in the presence of channel randomness, from a queuing theoretic perspectiv...

In this paper we have solved analytically the Schrödinger equation for a microscopic particle in a one-dimensional box with two infinite walls, which the potential function inside it, has a linear form. Based on the solutions of this special quantum mechanical system, we have shown that as the quantum number approaches infinity the expectation values of microscopic particle position and square ...
متن کاملTwo Dimensional Connectivity for Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks
In this paper, we focus on two-dimensional connectivity in sparse vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs). In this respect, we find thresholds for the arrival rates of vehicles at entrances of a block of streets such that the connectivity is guaranteed for any desired probability. To this end, we exploit a mobility model recently proposed for sparse VANETs, based on BCMP open queueing networks and s...
